Hid Kit For R Class
For anyone who has an R Class. I just installed a HID kit with 6000k.
Its the best upgrade you can do. Call genesis autosport at Rancho Cucamonga and talk to Recee. Cost $290.00

I bought a kit 6 months ago but didn't install them because I don't want to mess up the electrical and void the warranty (should've thought of that before the purchase). Also, I believe a hole needs to be drilled somewhere in the light housing to let the wires in.

So are the bi-xenons lites a totally different set-up ? Do they use a whole different lite housing ? I thought it would just be plug and play, and just mount the ballast somewhere.

Just ordered a 6000k kit from EuroEffects for my 07. I have the stock halogens and had upgraded my low and high beams to the Philips Xtreme bulbs. Much better than the stock halogens but still not bright enough for me. Previous car had stock HID's and wife's current car has stock HID's and I hate the R everytime I get in and can barely see anything. I will install this weekend and post pics. $149 not including s/h but lifetime warranty on bulbs and ballasts.

Does your R get a bulb out error message about new HID light? Or you have installed some special device to fool the computer?
Also, do you have any flicker problem?
Thanks!!

received the kit today- however, it doesn't have any sort of clip to lock the bulb into the halo projector housing. Did anyone else figure out a way to lock this thing in? I have a feeling i'm having a brain fart, but I can't figure it out.

R350 4-matic
While I was searching for some information, I came across the MTEC HID kit that is supposed to be a model specific kit for the R-class that is plug & play and will not bring up an error code.
Anyone ever used/heard of them?

You need to use the metal clips from the original bulbs.

How do you remove the metal clip from OEM bulb?
Thanks,

Installed kit over weekend. Purchased from EuroEffects for $149, lifetime warranty on bulbs and ballast. Installation was relatively simple, approximately 1 hour. Longest part of the process was drilling/cutting the hole out of the light cover to pass the wires through. Didn't have a drill bit large enough, had to use a knife. Putting bulbs in the housing wasn't much more difficult than putting new h7 bulbs in, if you've done it before, you should be able to do it easily. Zip tied the ballasts to some metal struts next to the headlight assembly, little tricky finding a good spot that doesn't get too much heat from the engine, but not difficult at all.
I put in 6k, i wanted bright, but a little bit of blue tint to it. Looks great! Absolutely no error messages, no flickering and no issues whatsoever. I use it with the auto headlight on setting and it works great.
The only complain I have about this car is that the headlights are aimed low out of the factory. So the HID's are still a tad bit low for my liking, but the brightness of the HID conversions make it much easier to see at night. Very nice cutoff, no hot spots, does not blind other drivers and makes it much more comfortable to drive at night. Best money i've spent on this car so far. I will take pictures this week and post- i'll try and get cutoff, front and side pics.

Paid $290.00 plus shipping on MTEC HID 6000k and can not wait to receive the item to install.

It comes with 2 years warranty (just OK not like your HID that comes with lifetime replacement parts)
