No sound when putting into Park or locking
I just took delivery of an 08 R350 4matic and when I put the car into park, there is no sound emitted. I had an 06 ML that did, and Im not sure if it was specific to that model. Also, when i lock the car with the remote, there is no honk. is this normal? is there a way to turn it on?

There is no honk when you lock the car, and I'm not aware of any MB model that has ever honked.

2008 R350 & 2008 C300
Various posts on the GL board have indicated that the chime was omitted in 2008 models. My 2007 GL has the chime. I can't explain why MB would leave out the Park chime in 2008, as I've found it very useful to have that audible feedback.

R 320 CDI on 20" Mandrus Milleniums
my R blinks 3 times when locking, once when unlocking, plus i have a nice "ding" when i put it in park.
also, i set it up that my mirrors fold in when i lock the car.
