Any one try to replace the hood emblem? I don't see any bolt or nut under, is the emblem just hold with double side type?

This is from a 2000 ML that had to have the front clip replaced, but they are the same emblem and I assume the same setup. There are two post holes on the back, not sure what held it in place or if its easy to uninstall. I will tell you that if your trying to put a conventional upright star on the hood you can't. Those require you to tighten a bolt from underneath and as I'm sure your aware, you can't get to it from underneath the hood of the R, ML, or GL.

Ha ha ha why not? I had a notion to put the upright star on my old ML...thats how I found out I couldn't do it without doing some serious work to it. Don't get me wrong it can be done..cut out a hole in the hood, then fix the upright star in there some how with barabond or some sort of bonding compound and hope its straight and that no one pulls on it lol. Too much work for me.
