R320 in 0 visibility snow

Hi to all,

Just went out on the road today to run some errands. I put the G35 coupe in garage and took our new R320. The R was GREAT! It doesn't have the clearance and height of an ML (W163), but is very sure-footed in the snow. I think it feels more stable than the ML at higher speeds. I'm comparing it to our old 2003 ML320 which we gave up for the R. I don't have any experience with the W164 chassis. Hence I can`t comment.

Cheers

R350 4-matic
A very solid platform indeed. I told my wife to take it to work last week as there was going to be ice and some freezing rain when she was going to be getting off.

Needless to say, she needed it, as it was a light rain and 24* and windy. She said it drove like a dream, and she only had one problem when turning from a turn lane onto a crowned road, but the R handled it fabulously. And on top of that, I knew as did she that the kids were safe and cozy in the back with no worries. Couldn't say that in a mini-van or the Q7 we were considering.

I hear you. The R doesn't have the same amount of room that a minivan may have, but there's no minivan that offers the same kind of road manners, safety and luxury to boot.

Q7?

Just curious...I also considered the Q7 before buying a used R500. Why wouldn't you feel as safe in the Q7?
