I'll be sure to mention you in my suicide note. My R500 has lost close to 50K off of sticker.
2006 Saks Edition R500 - Stickered just a hair under 70K

I set up the deal. Caught a flight at BWI into Manhester. The dealer picked me up at 8am and I started driving home at 9:30 am. Home at 6pm. I put a new set of tires and had it inspected at Mercedes for Maryland Inspection. Nice Car.
sticker is/was nearly 63000 -- has paint, P3, Lighting package, Heated front seats, 7th seat, Voice recog, 6 disc CD, door inserts --- and almost 8000 dealer demo miles on it.
Dealer asking around 47k for it --"new" demo.
BUt I think this should be offered as a CPO -- and for much less.
Before i start negotiating hard, any feedback or thoughts?
My wife is seriously considering a new GLK but given how lousy the lease offer is on the GLK I am tempted by this loaded R Class. Nearly bought one last Spring
Think I can get this into the low 30s?

I thought around $18-20K for 30Kish miles non-CPO R350 would've been a good deal. For similar car to yours, I was thinking around $25Kish. Now you've just lowered my target price

I feel lucky I didn't buy one mid-2007 (got a pretty good deal at that time... right or slightly below invoice, everything I wanted except Xenon). I went w/ BMW instead... was thinking of getting Honda Pilot as a "beater" for the baby since for some reason I cannot see my baby in E55 and risk a "whiplash" (always have heavy right foot every time I drive that car
). But now I see the R class is much cheaper than used Honda Pilot
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
i think this car has all the options except entertainment DVD.
pano roof, parktronic, navi, keyless start/stop, heated front/rear seats, full leather, bi-xenon, sirius, electronic gate.
btw, there's guy in sunnyvale moving back to korea w/ CPO R500 for $24k asking...pretty loaded and worth checking out...was on craigslist. good luck.

Just want to see how much the dealers are willing to negotiate nowadays. They're still asking $26K-$31K for cars w/ options & mileage I want. But non-MB dealers ask $18-21K for ones w/ 30-50K miles and few options. Having said that, my wish is to get a CPO 350 w/ <30K miles & options I want (NAV, memory seat, power lift gate, heated seat... lighting & AMG package if possible
) for around $20-22K OTD in mid Feb. For some reason, I always found the one w/ options I want but the color I don't like (pewter... no offense intended...
). I think the one in sunnyvale was also pewter, wasn't it?
as for price, i actually paid asking because MB dealer advertised it on craigslist for that price - it was lower than anything else at that time. keep in mind this was back in november, so when i saw a fully loaded CPO'd R500 for $25.8k(including brand new front/rear brakes/rotors), i grabbed it. in fact, they had just put the ad up, and there wasn't even a pix yet. most MB dealers back then were still asking $32-35k for R500, and even the non-CPOs were $25-28k, and they were even that well optioned. of course prices are lower now as we're in 2009, but i'm still not seeing too many optioned R500's for less than mine - though probably w/ lower miles.
as for R350, i didn't consider it because i had heard that the mileage was only 1 mpg better, and w/ $2 gas it didn't seem to make a difference. further, R350s that were well-optioned were rare...and the sellers always thought it was worth more than reality(esp vs. auction prices or R500's).
lastly, as for colors, my first choice was white and second was pewter. we had 3 silver MBs and wanted a change, and we didn't want black or burgundy, so not too many color options left.
well, good luck zoink...i recall you had E55 before also?

So I'll be checking their websites frequently... but looking at your deal... I think I could expect to get a 350 loaded w/ less miles around $21-22K. Less loaded (which I don't care personally
) around $20-21K.Why 350? Just from maintenance point of view. I foresee this car to be my "beater" car. This means, I will never sell it until it completely breaks down and I'll just donate it. So 350 should be more reliable and cheaper to maintain (2 fewer cylinders
). I don't need the additional power. Gas doesn't even come to my mind
Anyway, do you mind me referring to your deal if and when I buy a car from them? If so, please PM me your name

Yeah, I still have my E55.... still loving that car... not sure why I'm so attached w/ this car

I kicked myself for not getting the car below ('07, all the options I want including the missing air suspension - don't want extra future problem
). Timing was not right (my baby was born that week... too busy to think about cars
) I think the dealer let it go for $24K.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3AIT&viewitem=
Found another similarly equipped 500 at local dealer... lower miles & CPO but '06 & asking price is $32K
Do you think I should offer $24K also?
Too low, too high?
i think it's difficult finding fully loaded R350's, esp w/ low miles.
even when you can find one, there's usually a big premium and/or the color combo is not so desirable. enjoy...we've put on 4k miles in just 3 months.

Anyways, I ended up bought a R350 loaded in White, the color my wife and I like the most at MB of Walnut Creek. It looks NEW. Like's it's never been droven before. Best condition I have seen. I looked at least 10 CPO. 25000 miles at $25000. This is in November 08.
as for the dealer selling the car to me, if that's true...sorry about that.
unfortunately, that would not be the first time something like this happened at a car dealership. about 10 yrs ago, my girlfriend(now wife) and i drove for five hours down to LA to buy a car...i called on the way down to confirm, and we got there around 8pm. the dealer had a big sign w/ our name on it that said "welcome" - and the car detailed and parked out front w/ balloons on it.
we walked inside and the manager told us someone was signing the contract...geez. sorry again.

I just test drove one at that dealer. '06 350. All options except rear ent, rear heated seats & AMG package. 42K miles. 1yr9mo left in warranty. Good (not excellent) condition (one deep scratch above the left fender & right fender that have been touched up and my strong belief the left rear door is still original but has been repainted despite the salesman and sales manager swore up and down it hasn't
). The asking price is still $26K.
I plan to offer $20K OTD
What do you think? Reasonable or doable?

What do you think? Reasonable or doable? With 42K, deep scratch, and possible of body repair/repaint.... I think it's possible to do low $20K plus L&T.
Personally, I rather spend a little more and buy one that I feel comfortable with. We looked at least 10 before we bought. The one we bought, we were in the dealer that same day it was listed, others were waiting to buy if our deal not going through...
