Can you elaborate on the transmission problems? I have a 2006 R500 and I am experiencing shaking when pulling up to a full stop for a couple of seconds as the transmission downshifts down to 1st gear. This happens only on occasion however and not all the time. I will be calling my service advisor soon. I am told the problem is typical and there is a software update for that issue.

In December '08 I bought an Feb '06 Obsidian Black, Black Luxury Package, Pano, Heated Seats, Rear entertainment package, power liftgate, Nav,Sirius 19' wheels & Headrest DVDs for $21,145 OTD from non MB dealer with 33K miles. I flew one way to Wash DC area and drove it back to Michigan. ~22MPG all the way back. No major problems--- Heat controls were replaced under warranty -- Driver rotary control would sometimes not allow you to turn up the heat.
