I think you can find a better deal for this year/options/miles. Just my opinion.

Mine comes off auction. Never had any problem. Ask the dealer for the paint thickness meter. Measure around and you should get an even reading for a car without any repaint. Take VIN to dealer and ask whether it's been refused for service/warranty. Use AutoCheck along with CarFax will give you more info regarding history.
Mine also has P1. You should get it at low 20's.

r class 350
The dealer I bought from got mine from auction. It was a leased vehicle that was turned in. Like I said before go to Mercedes USA and get info from them. And don't forget the warantee is until 50,000 from Mercedes after you register it. Also do like we did and take it to your local Mercedes and have it checked after purchase and anything that is covered will be taken care of. I don't think 27,000 miles is alot if the car is almost 4 years old. jmho

"dealer vehicle"? As CPO by MB or ....? You can try to negociate $27,000 out of door if it's CPO. I think kock another $2000 off it's not CPO

2011 GL450, '06 R500 traded, '08 ML350 sold
Most used (sorry - pre-owned...) vehicles (CPO or not) sold at the MB dealer lots are purchased at auctions. My local dealer had told me that this way he controls his inventory and makes certain that he has enough of each model at all times. Without the auctions, he would potentially have too many lease returns of let's say C class at one time and not too much else.

I am not sure however if the auction he mentioned is within the MB dealer network or not.

Make sure it has all the options you want. Personally, i rather spend a bit more on a car with the options and color I want, rather than just save some money and regret it later.

It is a normal practice. Sometime Mercedes dealerships sells their NEW Mercedes at auction too. This way they get the first 'pick' of new cars coming from the Mercedes Benz.

Those of you live in Northern VA probably know about a dealership called Select Auto Imports in Alexandria (off Van Dorn St). Most of their Mercedes are brand new with only 10-200 miles but are sold as 'used.' I asked one of their salesmen and that is what he told me.

Dealer know their markets and their customers and most times when they take a trade in that doesn't fit their customers, they send it to auction. Doesn't mean anything at all is wrong with the car.

Actual sales levels of R-class indicate it's a VERY special interest car.

R350 4-matic
Take your time and get all the options you want NOW, b/c the R and most MB's I've figured out in general are a pain the *** to upgrade, unless your AMG or a C-class. The frustration and time spent searching for the upgrades/shops to do it will be well worth the extra cost and time waiting.
