R350 trade or sell?

I am close to getting out of our 2006 R350 for an 08 GL and the dealers are consistently offering 20k trade value. My question is how much better in this economy could I do and is it worth the hassle> It has 67k miles, Harmon Cardon sound, premium wheels, power hatch and a couple of other premiun packages that I don't recall off the top of my head but no Nav or heated seats. What could I expect to retail if for and how long would it take to sell? I know these are hard questions to answer definitively but anyone have recent experience selling an R?

BTW, anyone interested? Like new tires and always maintained as per factory. Desert Sand with Java interior.

IMHO 20k is a good trade-in for your R350. If I was shopping for a used R350 2006 with no Nav and with 67k miles outside of factory warranty I presume, I wouldn't pay more than that. So save yourself sometime and hassle and sign the papers for the trade

As someone that just finished shopping for a used R, I would say trade.

To be honest there are enough used R's out there that I don't think that I would have considered buying one that was a 2006, didn't have NAV, heated seats, or the Panoramic roof (assuming that you don't have that). Actually, for me, when you live in a colder climate, heated seats are like air conditioning. Once you get used to them, you can never go back. As a 2006 model, it likely doesn't have bluetooth or satellite radio either. On top of that, your car is of course among the oldest used R's on the market, out of the cars that buyers will have a choice of.

My opinion would be that, even though its a great car, trade it in and avoid having to wait for the right buyer that really wants your car to come along, especially as it is uncertain whether or not you will make a financial gain that is commensurate with the hassle and time involved in selling privately.

Also, in some jurisdictions, there are distinct tax advantages to trading as that amount is deducted off of the value of the car BEFORE sales tax.

Yeah, that all sounds like what I was thinking. 20k is a very fair trade value and all the hassle and time to find a real buyer in this market ain't worth a couple of grand tops.

$20K is great trade in value with your R out of factory warranty. I think you will do about the same in the private seller market. Good luck.
