How much should I pay for a 2010 R350 with MSRP $60K

Hi R-lovers

I'm planning on getting a R within the next few days. Can you help me to find out how much I should be expecting for one with MSRP $60K?! Should I buy the maintenance plan and/or the extended warranty?! I drive quite a bit to work and take kids to classes, 17K/yr, and plan to keep the car as long as it's reliable. I'm not planning on getting the rear seat entertainment at this time but might consider in the future. Should I include the pre-wiring option?! How about the towing hitch?! It sounds like there are few issues with that as well.

my email is whatasmile@gmail.com

Thank you!!

Sounds like u are ordering your car? MB had cut down on R-class for US and more for China market lately. Not sure about the issues but you get 4 yrs to fix for free.
Anyway, you should be able to find deal at 10-15% off from MSRP in SoCal. I just got one with $59k for $51k.
Good Luck.

I've personally never seen more than one (new) R on the lot at a time when I've been at the dealer. I would imagine new R350's are about as rare as when the R6.3's would show up on a lot back in 2007 as new. I bet new R classes are almost made to order, meaning they don't build one unless it's ordered and paid for first.

Just curious why the OP of this thread ended up with a GL over the R? My wife liked those too but I really didn't want V8 economy in something she was going to drive daily 20+ miles each way to work. Also we have a truck to go Off-Road in if we need to so we didn't really need a "rugged SUV" per se, plus I would never dream of taking a Mercedes short of the G500/G55 most places I like to go "Off-Road" so why mess up the family wagon.

We liked the layout of the interior of the R and flexibility of the fold flat floor, 2nd row captains chairs and readiness of the 4-Matic system should we ever (not likely) but get caught in a snow storm. About the only thing I really liked about the GL was that it is probably a better tow platform than trying to make one out of an R-Class. No worries though I have a dozen company trucks I can pull from if I really need to tow something just would have been more convenient to have that service from the R-Class.

you probably can find them online and get it installed at local mechanic shop, which will be cheaper.
I'm guess you going for GL either for towing or can't find the option you want on new R-class...which is, not just rare, very rare indeed.

The one I bought is actually a special order by dealer and it got options that are not even avaliable on the option list online..ie, memory passanger seat, heated 2nd row seat and 2nd row sunshade. We almost bought the one at different dealer with wrong color and options (P1 and heated front seat only) and litterary at last min. (15mins before we leave the house to pickup) one dealer called who had exact color and options + more we want at the same price!! (p1, para-roof, front & rear heated seats, parktronic, 7 seating, rear sunshade and memory pass-seat.). We really luck out on this one.

Enjoy ur new GL!

I really wanted 2nd row sunshades and we looked at a (Beige) yuck IMO color 2007 R500 that had it. After that we looked at 1/2 dozen R's from '06-'09 and every MB dealer told us they had never seen an R with 2nd row sunshades. And that it must have been aftermarket. I really wanted the pano roof, but my wife didn't like the idea from a safety perspective if the car rolled over there would be a wall of glass coming down on you. I agree with her, I love the look of the pano roof and the huge sunroof but I don't like the idea of that much glass over my head in the event of a wreck.

Unhappy

Thanks again. Correct about the options. I couldn't find one with what I want in R's and I need a car ASAP....
