Looking to pick up an 07 or 08 R350 in Bay Area

My wife wants a car with 3 rows so we are checking out the R350. Seems like for an 08 every dealer out here wants high 30's to low 40's for a CPO with around 30K miles. The 07's for similar mileage and options are about 4K less.

Are these just way too much? I keep finding posts in here about low 30's or high 20's and am wondering if I should just look outside of the bay area or just really lowball their "asking price"

Thanks

Mid 30's is a good price for 08. I paid brand new 08 for $41,200 before tax W/ P1 package, heater seat, Ipod connector and 7th seater. The sticker price was $51,100.
My R currently has 9600 miles on odometer after 2 years and I would not mind sell it for mid $35000 but I love my R so I decided to keep it and installed myself a GPS Navigation system for less than $700. The DVD drive itself is $1950 and dealer refused to retrofit it.

Mid thirty's is a good deal for an '08, this was the official year MB made the AMG styling standard. IMO the '06 & '07 look dated by comparison, not that I don't like the '06 & '07 it's just the AMG kit makes the R look more up to date. Our '08 listed at $42K CPO with 25K miles. We got out of the dealer for $30K + Lic & Tax. Keep in mind though I've also bought three Mercs from this dealer in three years and sent my dad in this past January to by a new W212 E350.

Thanks for the responses. I asked someone on here for recent auction results so that should be a reasonable indicator

I am in SF Bay Area. I have been monitor the R-class since September 2008 til now. I got my 2006 R350 with 24000 miles for $27K loaded in showroom condition in and out. The car looked like it was never been driven.

I think if you want a less option models, you can probably get it for low 30 or even high 20 even on 08 since base end models are harder to sell.

To me, R-class must have Nav, parking sensor, heated seats, power lift gates and pano roof. Mine also has power tilt steering and folding side mirror, 3 zone a/c, interior light package (interior door handles and foot area are lid with dim light, and third row reading lights) and chrome trims and etc.

I was not lucky enough to get the $25K R500 at that time, which was sold in less than 1 day during Thanksgiving weekend, which has everything possible such as HID and Key-less-go.

Well we made the plunge

R350 with 31,XXX miles
Capri Blue with Grey MB Tex
Brown Birds Eye Maple
P2 Package
18 inch wheel package - R41
Lighting Package - 319
Heated Front Seats

Got them to add on the 2 extra years of warranty and they matched Lisa's price.

Thanks for the advice and I am glad I used search on here before buying!

Now the only thing it does not have is rear DVD - what are people using aftermarket these days? Anyone try FloTv??

So far the only thing I have noticed that does not seem right is on the Passenger side rear suspension, it really makes a squeaky noise. My neighbor is about 240 and when he sat in the rear seat there was a very audible squeak somewhere from the rear suspension. Is this a known sound??

My R350 doesn't make a single rattle or squeak which is impressive being that we bought it as CPO used. Anyway, my W204 and my R129 both made a weird squeak when a passenger would sit down. It always came from the rear of the car and I always attributed it as the rear disk brakes or the parking brake slightly stretching. Like I said my R doesn't do this or at least yet to my knowledge. If the noise is more of a pulsating sound it could be your pump for the rear air suspension trying to level the rear end. I've only heard that once ever and it was when my parents were checking our R out and they all climbed in the back seats. A pump started up and the rear began to slightly raise.

C350 & R350
We're on the hunt too... looking for a 2008, <30K miles with P2 Package.

I generally seem to be able to get $2.5K off the "Special Internet" price which puts them somewhere in the $32-35 range (depending on Color/Miles). We're probably gonna pull the trigger today...

What are other people getting?
