I made this short video of driving our R350 in the snow. As you can see the 4Matic works great on snow and icy roads. Enjoy.

Last winter storm, I took my wife to work and its handling on snow was great with all season tires.
With studless snow tires, I bet that the R will handes much better in snow and icy.

I drove to Vermont many weekends last winter and the R500 went great. Used Blizzaks [no studs] on the OEM 18" wheels because our driveway in VT is short but very steep and usually covered w/ a mix of ice and grit. The R went up w/ absolutely no wheel slip/spin of any kind. 12" of snow were also no issue. An absolutely great snow car...BTW, never took it out of 'S' all winter...

This past winter I took mine up to the sierras 8" of snow & fresh powder. I was using the OEM Continentals tires. No problems, going up some hills the traction control got overwhelmed and bogged the motor down. I would turn the traction control off and all of a sudden I could go anywhere. This vehicle works great in snow. Only downside is the low ride height.

LOL, yah that's why I appreciate the air suspension button, I can raise the car an extra 3 inches (for high snow). too bad you do not have it. Make sure you get this feature in the next car you buy. It is awesome!

According to the rest of the MB community the Airmatic system is a painful piece of equipment to have to repair outside of warranty, "painful" being an understatement providing you can find anyone beside the dealer that can fix it. No thanks you can keep this feature and I'm glad I don't have full air suspension, my R-Class rides fantastic without it and will probably see snow again under my family usage 1% of the time.

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
You... took a Mercedes out in the snow!? Heresy!
Glad you like it. I'm a little south of you (state wise) and we use Good old American 4WD trucks here in the snow. Matter of fact, I even pulled a couple of Mercs out of the ditch this last winter, with my big, noise and environment polluting, baby killing (don't ask, it just fit in the description), dinosaur eating (diesel), 11K lb pick-up truck.

I would never dream of owning a benz without a warranty. No warranty is the real pain not the airmatic
have fun with the Car it is great!
