Transfercase oil
Hello what oil should go in the transfer case?
I would like to use the amsoil fluid. AMSOIL Synthetic Automatic and Manual Transmission Fluid

Let the dealership do it.
Then there's record of it, the parts will fit, and if something goes wrong - you have someone to take it to.

I have found them to be cheaper than doing that stuff myself.

No aftermarket equivalent noted, same as for transmission.

Fluid listed meets Mercedes 236.12 specifications

236.12 has been updated/replaced by 236.14, which is likely all dealer has

Amsoil: DON'T do it. They don't make fluid for your Mercedes transmission/transfer case.

It will very likely prove more problematic if you put in the wrong stuff versus never ever changing what's already in there. There is no published requirement for changing this fluid--see your maintenance booklet.
