clear coat damage
bird crap on my r.....blue berries, etc....washed the car as soon as I saw it this morning, but wife said that it "probably" happened the previous night when she parked under a tree................what is the best product to remedy this??......although I cleaned it off, when you look at it at an angle, you can still see where the crap was.

You can take it to a detail shop and have them use a mechanical buffer with polishing compound. This would probably make it 90% as good as new depending on the penetration depth of the bird cr*p.
Or get a buffing kit from Griot's garage with Machine Polish 2 & 3 (which I think is the finest) and give it a try yourself.

I have a personal hate of those rotary polishers - that routinely f*$# up a nice paint job under the guise of adding value, while adding infinite scratch swirl marks. There is no substitute for a little high quality wax and some elbow grease. Good dishwashing fluid will strip the wax and probably all the bird stuff too. Then wax over it - more than once. Use clean cotton and turkish towels. My 2006 still has a finish like a new car.
