Your taxi customers will love their ride in a R class. Make sure you get the MB-tex and not the leather interior.

I guess MB-tex is the arctico (artificial leather) in europe. Why do you recommend this one? Apart from durability issues what is the best in comfort? If i remember well when was playing around with the configurator in order to have both cool and heated seats it is needed to switch to leather, i guess for the perforated pattern.

MB tex does not wear at all. It will always looks brand new. MB tex does not need to be maintained. My 2008 R has heated seats and MB tex. However, if it does not come with ventilation (cooling). So, if you need cooled seats, you may want to go with leather instead. I live in South Alabama and it gets hot here and the uncooled seats do leave my back sweaty in the Summer.

Thanks once more.
I just tried to use again the configurator at german site and R is out of the models!!! At Greek site (where I am from) it is listed but the configurator does not work for R class. A few days ago it was functional...Does this mean that the model fades out both in US and EU?

Anyway if I go for new (if it is still available !! when I will be ready for order) I will consider your advise and maybe will discuss again the issue otherwise in used cars market I will have limited options.

Configurator is no longer showing R class here in US either. Sad because it's so roomy and luxurious. Better than a G or M class in my opinion. Anyway, I am sending you photos showing cup holder in first, second and third rows.

3. Are there cupholders in 2nd and 3rd row? (if possible to have some photos i would appreciate it)
4. When in 5+2 seats configuration and middle seat is folded does it serve as a comfortable armrest?

In case you are wondering for this kind of questions let me give you the context. I am considering strongly to get this car (long version) and use it as an executive taxi-cab. If you have any comments on that I will be happy to hear.

Thank you all in advance, have nice and safe journeys with your cars.
These cars make the best executive taxis EVER for the passengers. I have actually preferred it to the S-class, though the S-class looks more posh upon your arrival anywhere or when sitting waiting for you. It's WAY better than the S-class for more than 1 passenger and airport runs. BUT (and note the size of the BUT).... For the car owner/driver it'll be a financial disaster, worse than w220s were. They're just not reliable enough for car service duty, or even personal ownership IMO.

My advice, get new kids

The R is one of the few with a legitimate 3rd row.
