Pano roof shade will not open..... help..
Hey guys new to the forums but long time lurker.
Just wanted to know how do you open and close the pano roof shade? my sunroof opens and closes fine but the shade stay in the closed position no matter what...
Is this an easy fix? of course I will not go to the stealership.
btw I have a 2009 R350
thanks

Well it's up to you but my thinking is that it doesn't hurt to try. All I know is that anything involving the pano roof is typically very expensive.

Unfortunately, the pano-roof shade is just another one of those annoyingly and incredibly poorly engineered things on this car. Not sure if DBAG fixed it for 2009 (sounds like they didn't), but we had continual problems with it in our 2007. You can try having the dealer check it, realign it in the track, or even replace the whole thing, but there's a decent chance it breaks again. We had ours adjusted, realigned, and finally replaced under warranty, but (just like with the power liftgate), it soon failed again, out of warranty. Our final fix was to get lucky and get it open and just leave it that way. Alas, like the car itself, the pano-roof quality was a far cry from the sunroofs in our old w115, w123s, w124s, w201, w140, & w210. Good luck with yours.
