low beam will NOT shut off in auto mode (NOT DRL related)
Hi all,
(I believe this issue has nothing to do with DRL, and this is a US vehicle (2012 R350). I also searched the forum and there is no "constant/manual" settings in my vehicle. The only thing I can do is to turn off DRL, which I did)
Basically, in auto headlamp mode, the low beams are ALWAYS on regardless of ambient lighting. I originally thought it has to do with some kind of light sensor issue behind the windshield. However, interior lighting (e.g. GPS display and other convenient lights) does respond to ambient lightness! i.e. when sun is out, GPS display turns from night to day mode as I exit the garage, while the low beam is still on and stay on. The only way to shut off the low beam is to go back to the "0" position...
Any idea what might have went wrong? maybe there are different light sensors for headlamps and interior lights? Please advice.
