Mercedes 2007 R350
P0012 Code for R350

I have a 2007 R350 and just got a P0012 on my OBD reader. Local mechanic tells me that I need to replace the magnets in the sensors. Does anyone know how much these should cost? is this something that I can do myself? Thanks for any help or comment

R350 4-matic
If you search around, this has been covered quite a lot lately. It could be the magnets, it could be camshaft sensors. OBD doesn't really get specific enough, you need STAR to pin point exactly what the problem is.
