Car won't start

2006 R350 with 86k miles on odometer.

The car must've overheard me talking about trading it in for an R63. It won't star this morning - this is the first time it's left me stranded but luckily at home. Ignition turns over but seems like no fuel. While driving it yesterday I noticed a one time stumble of the engine and hoped it was a fluke. Drove it 50 miles home and no other issues but this morning nada.

Luckily under CPO extended warranty and had it towed to service dealership with MBUSA roadside service free of charge. That's a pretty nice complimentary service. Will keep you all updated.

Update: Called the dealer and was going to have AAA tow the vehicle to them (35 miles away) but the service rep highly recommended I call MB Roadside Assistance they would tow it free of charge, which they did. Bravo, MB. They provided a loaner vehicle brand spanking new GLK. Double bravo, MB. They diagnosed the problem as fuel pump (as I suspected) and said the CPO extended warranty will cover it. Triple bravo, MB! Loving the service!

Always nice to have warranty cover things.

BTW, for reference, the loaner car isn't provided by MB nor is the dealer required to give one to you by MB's rules. It's simply a service that the dealer provides (and pays for). Roadside assistance, on the other hand is corporate policy.

And yes, you should trade it in for an R63 =] You won't regret it!

I talked to two of the MB dealers I used about this and I believe Mercedes reimburses the dealers a set amount (one told me was $35/day) on loners. In some circumstances, the dealers may need to cover the difference between cost and reimbursement and it may be causing the dealers to not offer loaners all together.

That's interesting and good to know- thanks! This is the first I've heard of it, all the reading on the forum seemed to be at the discretion of the dealer. I figured that's why some dealers offer them while some don't. Or some dealers only offer them to customers who purchased their car from them.
