Anyone attempted this themselves? I'm a pretty experienced 'garage tuner' but wonder if access to the turbo in this car would make a do-it-yourself turbo replacement worth it.

Still, it looks like new turbos can be had for about $1,600 with rebuilt units around half that. The stealership want's $3,400 plus labor...painful.

Lookin' for a little 'group think' on this one.
