I went to known MB mechanic and I was told that the ECU installed on my R-500 2006 is not a correct ECU that is why I'm getting a message on the cluster of restraint inoperative, SRS light indicator always on and cruise control inoperative. Will ECU remap will solve this issues? need your help please!!!
Never heard of this problem on this forum before. Are you getting the car pre-owned? Have you talked to the MB dealer? I am wondering why someone would switch the ECU of the car.
Let us know what you have found out and hopefully, it is not going to be a big cost.

I came to know this only when the workshop who tested the car showed me the computer diagnostic result that the ME-ISF 2.8 module installed is from E-class and not for R-class base on the part number. Tried to call the dealer but denied knowing this problem. This is the problem in the middle east there is not consumer protection for us to report this wrong doings.
Anyway, I am after for solving this problem, so would appreciate any opinion if ECU remapping will solution the problems? or replacing the said module would be an idea?
