Exclamation 2006 R350 rear DVD single monitor stop working

The rear seats DVD monitor located on the center console stopped working today. Its controls illuminate, the DVD gets inside and it spins, but the screen is black and there is no sound into the ear phones.

On the back of the DVD player are connections (2) for the Monitor and also 3 RCA connectors for Video, Right and Left Sound. When I attach an external Monitor using the RCA connections everything works just fine (you have to remove the DVD Player and the Monitor from the car in order to do this). Use a 12 volt transformer with a plug that fits and the center contact being positive.

Then, I bought a used DVD player and a monitor of same model from eBay. They even do the same thing!!! I only used my cables. The monitor still does not light up - no picture or text or back light. Each time I connect the monitor to the player, four red LEDs light up and then go away. I am also not getting any audio at the headphone jacks on the Monitor. I also do not know if the DVD Player sends a signal to the monitor to light the screen, or if it just comes on when the DVD Player fires up.

So I suspect the cable between player and monitor is bad. I bought a few 8 pin din cables from eBay and Amazon. However, none of them works!!! MB dealer told me they don't sell the cable separately. They can only sell the monitor with the cable for $900...

Any superman can provide some advice here? Greatly appreciated!

PS: A few days ago, I replaced some fuses for my 2006 R350. Not sure whether I need to input some code to make my rear DVD works properly or reset something.

I had a hard time trying to remove the plastic arms of the monitor on both sides since I don't want to break them.

Could anyone provide some instructions or hint on how to remove them properly?
