Hi all, I bought a used R320 from an auction with 40K about 20 months ago. Have found that someone must have tampered with the ODO and the car must have high miles, there wasn't clues and title came clear, my mistake. Now the engine which I have put thousands of dollars into with major and minor repairs has a major internal problem. Rebuilding seems daunting and my Mercedes mechanic sais it would be very expensive, finding a new or rebuilt engine might be a better choice but where do I find a good one.
The car looks and drives very nice except the engine and the DPF needs changing (that was one of the clues of high mileage).
Does anyone have an idea of a good source of a good new or reconditioned diesel engine for this car or should I just try to sell it as it is.

 

Welcome to MBWorld. Sorry for the issue you've had. Stinks when people aren't straight when selling. Start hitting junk yards. Might be able to find a total loss with frame damage, but good working engine.
