Convex side mirrors?
Did the R ever come fitted with convex/blind spot mirrors? I see some ML mirrors on eBay for MLs that has that section built into the mirror for wide angle blind spot viewing. Aftermarket even? I not fond of the stick on ones, would much rather have it already in the mirror but if worse comes to worse this is as close as a blind spot mirror as I have seen that may blend well:
