When I get some new leads for my multimeter, I'll measure the resistance on the incandescent bulb and the LED to determine the correct resistor.

Just measured the resistance on the original incandescent bulb and it was 3.0 - 3.1 Ohms. All the different LEDs i checked were in the magnitude of kOhms to MOhms. So, my guess was right on the money; I just think I should've upped the wattage a little; so I ordered a pack of 10w x 3 Ohm resistors. I checked a couple other types of bulb I had in my toolbox, and they ranged from 1.0 - 0.4 Ohms. Unfortunately, I didn't have a license plate bulb to check, but I'll do that later when my wife gets home with the Smart, because they pop out really easy.
