AC compressor control vavle

After much trouble shoting of my intermittent AC operation I need to replace AC compressor solenoid. Has anyone determine which of the many after market valves fit the R with 3 zone cooling. Looking on eBay valves are less then 75.00 a new compressor is 450. I would do the vavle if I new which one it was. Any knowledge or experience with this would be helpfu. Thanks

Have not done work yet

I have a problem with intermittent code 9006 compresor short.
I am 90% sure it is the AC control valve. I plan to get the compresor model number and see if I can locate a valve. But that is only part of the problem. I would have to drive car 3 miles to AC service center to have system purged. Not sure driving 3 miles home with no refrigerant and no oil won't damage compresor. I would change vavle and drive 3 miles back no oil for 6 miles is a concern.
My other option is replace compresor drive home would not be concern replacement is pre oiled so return to AC center is not a concern. Vavle is in $50 range replacement compresor is $350 so I go back and forth. Audi/ VW owners report good results with valve replacement but I have not found much on MB valve change.
