Tele-aid and radio reception

Hi all,

My R320 started developing an intermittent quirk, just wondering if anyone had any insight.

Periodically when i open the tailgate the car initiates a Teleaid SOS call. The research I've done suggests this would be associated with another issue that I'm having, which is poor radio reception, because the two share some telematic components.

There are quite a few potential components involved here, so I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem, solution, or just some insight.

Thanks in advance

The owners manual says telaid will place an automatic SOS call if the tailgate handle is pulled for 20 seconds or more. This as part of a procedure for remote unlocking in case of lost or locked in keys. This is the relationship between tailgate and sos call. I think it happened to me once. the SOS light stayed on. Stealership charged me $50 to turn it off... until I complained. I was not aware of the relationship then, but I did have a tailgate issue, so now I know why!

I see. Maybe the switch is sticking a little. I'll check that out. Thanks for the input.
