Reset brake wear warning on c350 2014

I have cleaned ma rear brakes on my c350 4matic coupe 2014 (w204) to get rid of a squeaking sound. Now I can't get rid of a message with says "check brake wear" every time I start my car even if I have took extra care of putting back the sensor together. How can I reset the message? I don't wanna reset the service as many of you suggest.

should be in the W204 forum
Unclear if the check break wear was on before you cleaned them? Immediately after?
Either you broke the sensor, or missconnected it or just coincidentally the pads where just about to hit the sensor.
You can check the continuity of the sensor with a DMM/ohmmeter. Should be shorted. a small wire gets worn to open when the pads wear.
I find that the sensor goes off way to early, often with 3/16 pad left so I cut the wires and soldered them together so they dont trip the warning again.
it is very easy to check break wear visually from between the wheel spokes. I also change summer/winter wheels so I can inspect twice a year. and note the wear.
