Break pads change.....message still displays

I changed the pads all around with cheap ones, came no sensor, re-used the old ones......and display still asks me to change the pads.

Here is the question : do you need to change the break pad wear sensor every time you change the pads or can it be reused ?
And is there something to do to make the message go away on the display ?

Hope i dont need to go to the dealer they would charge me more then the pads price just to hook the star thingy onto the car

Thanks for advises

the warning comes on when the brake sensor is worn down... and once it has, you can't reuse it because it's already shorted out (and will always trigger the 'brake pads' warning)
Replace the sensors.. they are very cheap... like $7 or so ...
Amazon Amazon
all the best

its the other way around. when the sensor touches the disk, it wears a thin wire and goes open. The sensor is normally a short.
You can cut the twisted wire and strip off the insulation and twist them together.. wrap with tape or solder... etc. That will short them out again. No more warnings. but no more sensors either. up to you. or buy some sensors, they cost a coubpe bucks each.

Is this for an ML or an R? Your profile says you have an ML. this is an R forum!
