Good evening,

I'm hoping that there is a reset on the rear hatch opener that I need to activate to get it to work properly on my wife's 2008 R350. You can hear that it is trying to open the hatch but its almost as if it's not unlatched at the locking mechanism even when you try opening the hatch at the hatch release. Any help is deeply appriceciate.

um nope.. probably new latch or even new pneumatic shocks... common problem. can you learn to live with it? just open manually?

Hatch won't open from the outside the majority of the time, someone needs to crawl into the back and hit the release and push it open. It will open on occasion but I will look further into it thank you.

If you can hear the latch buzzing when using the outside release handle or when pressing the key, but the door/lock doens't actually unlatch, the answer is replacement of the trunk lid latch. Common failure..

If it were unlatching but not lifting, thats when I would look into the actual lifting components of the rear trunk lid.
