2006 R500
Clear check Engine Light

Hello all,

My 2006 R500 is displaying "CHECK ENGINE" light. I got a Ancel AD410 OBD-II and tried it. It read the code (P0400) but when I try to clear the code using menu, It displays error "Error in communicating with Vehicle ECU". The unit asks to turn engine off but key in Ignition ON position which I made sure.

Tried couple of time but same error each time did not erase the code and the "CHECK ENGINE" is still on.

Is R500 prohibited to these generic OBD-II readers? Should the engine be ON when clearing the code? The last thing I don't want to do is to damage the vehicle computer :-)

Thanks!!

Hmmm, this isn't fun. I hope you don't have to replace the ecu, cause that is never a fun pill to swallow. If you do have to replace it, though, give us a call, we will have what you need! 1-888-875-2958 Hopefully though, you get it fixed without any problems!
