Serpentine belt whine. Ps pump?
2006 R350 pulley whine. Have an 06 R with m272 v6 125k miles. Had a pulley whine last month which was fixed by idler pulley replacement. Whine is getting louder now and I isolated to power steering pump by performing MB tech bulletin SB-83.55_87f using gates 6pk 2330 belt to remove ac pulley. When I spray lube on ps pump pulley the noise abates for a short while and comes back. Since pulley is integrated I’m going to replace with LUK OEM unit. I suspect replacing the fluid reservoir at 125k along with pump is a good idea. What else should consider doing and what other parts should I get for this weekends DIY project?

Will lemonchello make a good substitute for grappa? Wife has some. I usually deal in a single malt scotch.

Make sure you get the right pump....just finished replacing one....big headache...all look the same but the tip that connects to the resevoir are diffrent on most...compare before you repair...lol

Why replace the pump if it is a belt noise. There is contamination on the pulley. Take the belt off and wash the pulley grooves with brake clean and a wire brush. Probably some belt dressing on that.
