Parktronic repair
After a bit of research, i ordered icarsoft to diagnose a recent parktronic failure.
icarsoft revealed left rear outer sensor failure.
I was able to remove the sensor without removing any body parts.
Ordered a new sensor from Amazon for $15 delivered.
Shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to install.
i will report back the result.

Would like to hear what your experiences with the Icarsoft tool is! Could be very handy for us DIY benz owners!
what model do you have? Seems there are 2... cost? etc.
Would be cool to own one locally and lend it out..

It works with all recent models. There is a cutoff- it may have been around 1998 and earlier that it won't work with.
I have an 08 R350.
I am very impressed with this tool. Goes far beyond generic code readers and accesses sub systems.
Very short learning curve and dials in specific model.
Paid 160 for upgraded model. Use it once successfully and it is paid for.
You won't mistakenly screw something up with it either.

Great
there is an iCarsoft MB II
and a iCarsoft Multi-system Scanner i980
The i980 seems more powerfull from the website description yet it is cheaper on amazon.
which one do you have?

It appeared to me that MB II was an upgrade with more function than i980

Discovered my Parktronic malfunction was due to a minor rear bumper impact which damaged the wiring bundle near the left rear outer sensor. 3 breaks in a ground wire. After repairing I also repositioned the bundle so it shouldn't happen again. The bundle got pinched between the bumper skin and the metal beam. Kind of strange bundle path.
If it causes further issues I may consider bumper skin removal and replacing the sensor wire bundle.
