does anyone else have it or know of any better working all purpose scanner ?? inputs before i pull the trigger ?

Forget the kinnygarden crap, however a great entertainment device for your girlfriend to watch your pistons to up and down--------look at a DAS Xentry system.

I thought the DAS systems will only let you view the systems, not make any changes to them (for MY after 2011). Yes?

You need you read more before engaging your brain. Any 011 or future issue of DAS Xentry will do more that you will ever understand.

So you are saying that both C3 and C4 are both capable of making system changes on a MY 2012 and newer without being linked to MB?

C3 mux is good up to version 12 15------what are you taking about linked to MB----read---nobody is linked to MB are you getting your information from the HS artists over at Bens Wurld!!

Linked meaning dealer driven updates. I'm getting bad dope for sure. That's the problem, relying on the web for DAS info doesn't help a guy who isn't on top of it every day... I've only done basic diagnosis on my 06 skl55 with it, but nothing with my 2012 R Class thinking I needed C4 to be able to make any changes since it was a 12.

For example, I was told I had to program in a new TPS that is throwing a code in my r171. I couldn't just change it out. And only a dealer could do it, My C3 couldn't do it because it's not linked. That's BS?

You are correct that is BS and your C3 will work well on the 96 rust bucket and the 12 wanabe.
To complicate matters further your 96 is diagnosed via the MB HHT diagnostic system that was rolled into all DAS, Xentry and the current XDOS standalone diagnostic system to diagnose the older rust buckets.

Yea, my crap is crap, but at least it was paid for with cold hard cash.

And the rust bucket, clean your glasses. It's '06 crap. No HHT diagnostic issues...
