2009 R350
Drive to workshop without shifting gears
Hi everyone,
Today my battery died in the 2009 R350 and when I jump started it, the "drive to workshop without changing gears" came on.
I can't switch to any gear and my car won't start ( I'm guessing because it doesn't know which gear it's on ).
How do I reset this so the ISM will recognize the gear?

Does the engine run? any other warnings? This can be either a bona fide transmission problem or an electrical glitch caused by your bad battery or boost.
Do you have a battery charger? Try charging it overnight. It may get going again. But then immediately drive it to your favorite equipped benz shop to get it checked out.
Mine did that and needed a new alternator, and reset tools to get it all working again.
