I am trying to use eye bolts in the roof rack mounts to attach a cargo bag without an actual rack. Got M6 bolts based on info in another thread, but they are too small. I am guessing maybe M8?? Does anyone know? Thanks!!

Just checked my roof rack fitting kit studs. They have threaded part M8 size, 1.25 thread pitch. My merc is 2007 R320. Dont think that would be any different than yours.
