How long will you keep your R class?
Hi All,
I do enjoy every single 2011 R300 CDI, its 10 years now. I feel a bit nervous to keep it longer considering with Benz considering all the electricals or sensors may fall apart in the near future and the cost to replace it can be very expensive. I'm always being paranoid when i look at my speedometer as I'm always worried that one of the warning light will appear
Even though I do understand we can source the parts from overseas being in Australia e.g (US, Europe)
What do you guys think?

2006 R500
That's part of the reason I opted for the R500. Gas engine that has been proven to be reliable with not too many electronics. Almost everything electronic related can be sourced from similar year W164s and X164s. I'm sure it will last until electric cars are objectively better than gas and cheap enough on the used market.
The only thing I wish I could do to it is put the facelift front end on. The facelift looks far better.

Keep it as long as you are willing to feed maintenance dollars/euros/yen/renminbi/kroner into it.

^LOL what he said
I paid just under $5000CAD for my 08 R550, and for good reason, in the first 3 months of ownership I spent roughly $4000 in what was basically maintenance/repair catch up from the previous owners.
Despite this I am fairly content with the vehicle as the list of "needs" has been taken care of and I can begin the list of "wants".

I got a nice deal on a 2011 R350 BT with only 80K on the ticker. The car was very well maintained by the original owner. I only had to replace the SAM because the radio displayed the "device unavailable" error mssg. Got a refurbed unit from FastOEM.com for $500 and replaced it myself. Going to drive this thing through retirement. It's the smoothest riding tank I've ever driven.
