Replacing instrument cluster, what to watch out?

Looking to possibly replace my mph instrument cluster with a kph (metric) one. It seems ML-class clusters are compatible, but the local parts shops are explicitly calling out theirs as "without Distronic". Is there really a difference in the clusters? My R has Distronic. Wouldn't it just be a question of coding the cluster to the vehicle and be done with it?

I thought these clusters can be changed to miles or kilometres. Mine can be changed on settings through the steering wheel buttons. Try that, might save you some work.

Indeed, I did. But then the cluster tops out at 200 km/h. It’s pure vanity, I agree, but if I can switch to the 320 km/h cluster for “not too much”, I’d like to. Hehe.
