My driver's seat adjustment switch, on the side of the seat - not the door,
is breaking down, I was thinking of converting it to a memory seat,
has anyone ever done this?

You'll have to see if the seat option you want to install is compatible (an offered option) on your vehicle.
If it is, it could be a simple plug and play.
If not, given the complexity of the CANBUS, you're likely out of luck unless you go for an aftermarket solution.

Memory also involves the mirrors, which will likely throw a wrench in things.
