R350 oil change by suction

I was told by a mechanic thatmy oil needs to be sucked out and then replaced. Most garages do not have the right device. Suggestions?

Do you have access to an air compressor?

Amazon Amazon

Get one of these. You won't need to lift the car as the oil filter is up top as well. You can do it all in your driveway/garage.

naw.. R350 has almost 9 liters of oil. that thing you propose is only 6.5l.
I have one similar to below and it still takes 15 or more minutes to suck out thru the thin tube. You dont want to be pumping manually for that time

Also. MB have a specific oil tube size and there are special MB extractor fitings that fit directly My C240 can be extracted full with this. R350 can be sucked 90% with this, then the tube.

this is the real deal!

Hi guys,
I always heard about this oil suction thingy but never thought it was necessary. Do you confirm there is no other way to change the oil, such as by letting it flow?

Um you can change the oll the normal way from the bottom but you may have to remove the plastic bottom cowling.
Honest get one of these ... you will ask yourself why you waited this long.

I'm pretty sure starting with our generation Mercedes started removing oil drain plugs from their cars. There is no oil drain plug on my R500.

The R500 is like over 10 years old. How do you know there is no oil drain plug? did you remove the bottom plastic cowling? Very odd because you can buy an oil drain plug for a 2007 R500 on rock auto

You're probably right, I never bothered to check. I already had the vacuum extractor and never needed to check for it. It pulls pretty much all the oil out.

I used this,
Amazon Amazon
on my 2011 R-350 several times. It seemed to work fine, I'd have to pump it up a couple of times during the process. I'd move the line up and down a bit until it was sucking air at the end.

I have done that on mine a couple of times now. What i am using is a simple oil pump, driven by 12V from car battery. On R class you can hook it to jumps start points. Bought it from some shop for 15GBP. Works well. It comes with transparent hoses. Drop it into any container and thats it. Surely through google search you will find one to buy.
