2006 R350 trunk latch not closing
this is not a power liftgate, just the power motor on the latch that closes the tailgate closed. it was not closing the trunk tight and i needed to slam it closed.. I have replaced this before and it worked fine.. this time i have tried three new motors and same problem.. it wont close it,, it has power to unlock it as when i pull the handle the motor moves... any ideas ?? is there a fuse for the closing of this??? any help would be great

Does it close if you flip the latch inside the rear window, and close the rear liftgate manually? I have a 2011 R350 with a working power rear door and I end up flipping the handle and closing it myself 90% of the time anyway. If it works fine with manual closing, I would give yourself a mental break and not try and chase down what could be bothering 16 year old Benz's rear power liftgate.

this is not a full power lift gate that lifts it all the way up.. my problem is the latch actuator that pulls the trunk tightly closed.. i have tried 3 latch motors and none will pull it tight closed...
