2006 R350 rear SAM issues....
rear tailgate latch is not closing, wiper is stopping in middle of window.. car has a little trouble starting... can any of this be rear sam issues? could it just have a blown fuse in rear fuse area?? or is it dead?
car is in nice shape with no water damage... any other things that would indicate a bad rear sam? main issue is rear latch not closing....

Let's gather evidence to fix these problems. You need to use a scanner to query status of your car computers... without that you are going to go around circles replacing good parts with aftermarket.
Many people like icarSoft scanner... I happen to use an Autel
Generally I do not think R-SAM is directly involved in poor start conditions but with poor battery charging, definitely yes. Don't try to fix issues with a wet finger, ping your computers with a scanner ✌️

Too many unrelated. Yes the rear sam handles lamps and wiper. but after so many years perhaps something else going on. The rear wiper shaft gets all corroded. have you tried to apply wd40 or other, manually help it move?
rear hatch is a common problem. easy to replace with cheap aftermarket. See my other post about it.
what do you mean by hard starting? Under what conditions? perhaps crankshaft position sensor? Is this an intermittent problem? does car stall? When hot?
