SRS Front right side malfunction, Consult Workshop and PRE-SAFE Inoperative
Hi, I have a 2010 R300 W251. I need help on how to fix SRS Front right side malfunction, Consult Workshop and PRE-SAFE Inoperative, See Owner’s Manual message. Both are intermittent.

Assume youve scanned for codes? This could be anything including a loose headlight connection that can trigger this so scanning is your first step.

Thanks for the input. I’m looking into getting an OBD scanner. Would be able to suggest a good scanner which can also work for my W204?

See this thread I started as I'm looking to upgrade my scan tool. The Launch tool (there are many versions) looks good. All depends on how far you want to go. Whatever you do, don't buy the cheap OBD2 tools as they only scan for generic codes. You need one that reads MB specific codes.

Simple little difficult
if you need to drive the car but it does not start you must unplug the 2 connections under the passenger seat.

Hi I had the same issue you need to replace the Matt weight sensor which communicate with car computer to activate SRS passenger side it is embedded within the cushion of the front passenger seat . You can buy it on ebay W251 - A2518706210 about 120$.
if you need to drive the car but it does not start you must unplug the 2 connections under the passenger seat.

You will know which specific part once you read the codes on the dedicated scanner. Since it is intermittent, you might find that you just have corrosion on the pins of the connection. Be very careful and follow all procedures for working on an airbag circuit, which generally entails disconnecting the battery.

simple and difficult
it depends on your experience, it is a delicate job, you need to undress the seat from three sides; front, left and right. There is a plastic lining locking with the seat, and there is a video on youtube on how to do it. It is a one hour job.
NOTE: you have to unbolt the seat completely from the car after unplugging the connections.
