Help: dash noise WTH

Help: dash noise WTH
Recently, I noticed that when I start the car, there is a thumping noise coming from within the dash. Kinda in the center of the dash. Like thump.......thump.......thump......It does this 6-7 times then stops for the duration of the drive. Then I park it at Homedepot and restart the car and it does the same thing! So, every time I start the car. I had the hood open and had someone start the car inside, but I could not hear it outside in the engine bay BUT the person in the car hears it.
What am I looking for?

It's punishing you for thinking of replacing the air struts with non air. 
Probably HVAC related, like a malfunctioning vent flap/activator. Not much else moving under the dash aside from HVAC stuff and some small fans that wouldn't make a thumping noise.

LOL - yeah but I'm so sick of replacing the air springs. This would be my 3rd time around and the prices seem to be much more vs the 2nd time. I only have airs in the rear too, so I don't know hopefully someone has something good to say about the Strutmasters.
I was thinking its some HVAC actuator too, but my AC works fine in the center and sides. Dunno know
