2005 Crossfire SRT-6
Gotta love sleepers. Anybody can have a sports/muscle car that's fast...........but it's sooo much more fun when you fly by that guy in something unexpected and generally looked down upon. That's why I drive a lowly Crossfire

For Lowering you can also check out www.adjustableairride.com. Fully adjustable Links so you can lower the vehicle to whatever height you like.

Actually I think the number is closer to 80 to 100 - but that's worldwide.
Nice car - if it were me I'd keep it bone stock due to low volume of production. Enjoy.

just drove back into az tonight and snapped some pics, its halfway there. i blacked out all the chrome, all the taillights side markers etc sueded the headliner like all 63's should come from the factory, and tinted the windows. i ceramic coated the exhaust, but i need some serious wheels, the stock wheels will NOT make the grade, so any ideas on wheel manufacturer? should i go all black or a satin or brushed look? enjoy the crappy pics.

I was thinking of purchasing an R63. What mods are out there to boost the HP up just a little more? I think Renntech can do the ecu since they have one for the ML(should be interchangeable), that will get it up to 530.
But do you know if there is anything else?

Hi guys, i just finally took ownership of my 3rd amg car. i bought an 07 r63 amg black on black with 26k miles at a local dealership. i paid 50k out the door with t+l and was wondering if anyone knows a good shop that can lower the car. i will post pics after i detail it, and after i get new wheels/ de chrome the whole car, tint, powdercoat exhaust etc. we need to spice up this forum a bit, it seems no one posts here!!!
No matter what anyone says, I think it looks good!

Once you are getting up to 550-600hp, is the transmission a concern? I know they left it out of the S65(5 speed) and G55's because of the power keeps eating up transmission.

thats a great question.... i dont know the answer, my hope is that i will be able to handle the extra 75-90hp i plan on giving her, but only time will tell. i do know they continue to use the 5 speed on the much higher Hp mBZ's. good looking out.

Spiffs,
I would ignore the engine mods after you are up to 550hp and get some carbon fiber hood, doors and get the car to 0-60 in 4.2 seconds in automatic mode.
Shaving 175 lbs would be much more effective to speed.

thats a good idea, im now contemplating wheels now, because i think they will add weight instead of get rid of it. i dont know of any carbon manufacturers that will make a carbon hood for that car unlesss i shell out over 1600 bucks

No one said it would be cheap for carbon fiber. Also, they have lightweight rotors that cut 35 lbs or so off the car.
35 here, 35 there, would be a huge jump. I'm currently trying to find an R63 also. Not an easy task.

Good luck on finding one, as there are now only 29 available in the US...
I think the black tinting looks good. Sadly weve got strict laws against tinting...
By the way spiffs, we didnt get only a nice picture of your car, but you also posted a pic of yourself

175 lbs of weight reduction does more than adding 50 horsepower to a vehicles 0-60.
only 29? damn it. I thought there was 80 or so in the US.

R-63 AMG
Are you thinking about expending to the East Coast with your fiber optic venture? PS: Congrats on a Very unique vehicle, you will enjoy it, I have been enjoying mine since November of 06 when I bought one of the first examples in NY. Also, I am surprised that yours is lacking options that to my knowledge were absolutely standard such as bi-xenons -I checked my window sticker. I have every option one could get, as I ordered my car almost 9 months before delivery. Distronic, 3-zone climate control, keyless go, heated seats rear/front, Ipod integration, rear entertainment system, Bluetooth were the extras. Anyway, good luck and enjoy!

Car is finally DONE!!! got the wheels on the lowering module, painted all the interior wood a matte/gloss black combo. got the 22 wheels on and added the extra 90hp i wanted. i will dyno her soon, and see if i can get around 500hp on the dyno. thoughts?????

Well, MB has the R63 at 503hp... so dyno would probably give you 465-475 at the wheels. After your mods up to 590hp, you are probably getting 550hp at the wheels.
Just a guess.
Regardless, with 590hp, you are looking at 4.3 0-60 speeds in automatic mode.

550 at the wheels? Sorry, not going to happen. Even chipped 65s/600s have a hard time getting that much horsepower to the wheels-- no way the R63 is going to push out 550 to the wheels, I would say 420-460 is more reasonable. Also, you must consider the massive 22s the R63 is sitting on which definitely robs the car of hp.
FWIW, stock 63s dyno in at roughly 390-420 to the wheels.
SPIFFS, if you want 18rwhp horsepower FREE, remove your charcoal air filters which can be located next to your stock air filters in your air box. PM me if your not engine savvy and I'd be glad to help you. If you remove the charcoal air filters and replace your air filters with K&Ns, you will see a significant gain in power.
Free mods? Why not!
