@xxGenericSNxx I like your AMG door pins. Where can I score some of those? I think those will add a nice touch to my project car!
Did you have them made or are they original AMGs?

There's two different part numbers. One type is a screw on style (which is what it is on all four of my doors). The other type is the push in type. Some MB have screw on in the front and push in the rear. It's up to you to figure out which version(s) your G Wagen has and if it'll fit. The G door pins may be slightly wider than other MBs but I'm not sure and I hope I'm wrong.

The Front end looks great with the new front bumper! Would love to see it in person sometime. Also, i don't know if you would like to change the bulbs out in the drl's if that's what those are but they would look even better matching the rest of the lights on the front end. Just an idea.

I did change those parking lights already. Before they were a really dim ugly warm bulb. Then I had them changed to LEDs with resistors so I won't get the code, but I'm unhappy about the color temperature and brightness of the bulbs so one of the things on my to do list is to get a set of whiter LEDs to replace those.

Hey bro, the R AMG is looking great!
I love all the attention; the new style 'AMG' rear badge, the side skirts, the carbon inside, the new front bumper, wheels etc.. Looking good, keep it up.
I think it would be sick if you put (since you have so many rows of seats) AMG badges on each seat. I think that'd be pretty unique.
I'm about to do a group buy with either 5 or 10 people, of an all carbon fiber front end 'recessed/pointed' front bumper for the CL
https://mbworld.org/forums/cl55-amg-...onversion.html
Should be sick as the W215 was never offered or "facelifted" with the newer style front end.
I read that DCTMS is doing your custom steering wheel. Here's the one they literally just completed for me
They do awesome work, you'll be happy
Sorry to hi-jack

Funny you showed me that steering wheel as I was just talking to the engineer on the phone the other day about a steering wheel he just saw that had red leather, red stitching, CF, and CF paddles. I think mine will look similar to yours but I'm going to keep it all black with regular aluminum paddles (I like the textured feel of the aluminum). That's a beautiful wheel, post a photo of it in your car when it's on! Is the CL's airbag section already leatherized? Is the top of your steering wheel slightly flat?
I did see your group buy thread. That should be quite interesting as the "beak" front bumper really does update the looks.
If I recall correctly on the C215 they only changed the head and tail lights on the facelift for the exterior? (aside from wheel and quad tips on the AMG)
I was thinking about adding more AMG badges on the seats as the Vision R63 had it on the front four. However, the front ones are recessed into the seat and I'd like to do the same on the other four rather than just "adding them to the top." So when I take the front seats apart I can see how they're put into place (my next mod which is a surprise).
Do yo think that the place that's doing your bumper can make a one off CF diffuser for me?

Thanks Nizzle.
No exhaust mods and unfortunately it'll probably stay that way aside from the tips. It's got a wicket exhaust note that I can already hear in the car which is nice- just not loud enough to really rumble the I90 tunnels. But this is for the sake of my neighbors which I don't think like it too much when my loud exhaust friends come over.
What about your car, any exhaust stuff?

My 55NA is totally silent. There's only a slight note if you floor it and you're outside. The 63 is surely louder but the R exhaust tune is nowhere near as loud as the C63 or SLS. The R exhaust is on the tamer end of all 63 exhausts.
Put in an x pipe in your car and you should be set. My friend put an x pipe (and changed his mufflers to Meisterschafts) in his S550 (silent exhaust) and it is louder than my car. But the x pipe contributed most to his sound gains.

The body shop was so happy with the Wald's fitment. They said it was one of the best aftermarket parts they've put on. With that said, though, it was a lot of work to get it on. They had to pull off the brackets for the headlamp washers and parking sensors from the old bumper. They also had to reuse the old bumper skin mounting points and transfer it over to the new bumper. So there's a lot of added labor time to get it ready to mount and basically my old bumper is not usable as it doesn't have any mounting points.
I also wish they had DRL for the front, but quad fogs is a nice consolation.
The Lorinser side skirt I put on myself and the fitment was pretty good. This part is a lot more stiff than the stock flimy side skirt so you had to be careful when installing it. The rearmost mounting point isn't quite curved the right way so we didn't install the mounting pin to hold it in place otherwise the skirt would crack a lot at that point (it's cracked a little bit already) but you don't see it as it's hidden by the door sill. There are four mounting points that aren't drilled out in the wheelwells. I need to pull the rear wheels to do that and just haven't gotten a chance to yet.
For aftermarket stuff, this stuff fits pretty well.

I may have to relegate DHH to be the guinea pig on supercharging this car. =]
In my opinion this van's fast enough and I don't want to test the integrity of the block by blowing it. (also the kit's very expensive!)

I met with benz world member "08R550" last week since he came through town. He's got a Canadian specification 08 R550 registered in the US. Apparently MB only sold the R550 in 2008 for North America (Canada only). It was certainly a treat as I've I personally have never seen an R550 until I saw "08R550's" even though I've been to British Columbia many times. This car is pretty well equipped with ventilated front seats with perforation, xenons, power tail gate, rear seat entertainment, center console, and features Anthracite wood trim (black) which isn't available on any US spec R-Class.
As you know the R550 has the 5.5 V8 found in the S550 which has 382 hp. What makes this model interesting is that they cancelled US V8s after the 2007 model year and the 550 was never introduced here. We only had the R500 and R63.
Perforated seats!
