Need Help.. S500 Coupe 1995

Hi guys, i just got a S500 coupe 1995 model, which was given to me with a busted head gasket, this has now been fixed, as has the water pump (the cause of the blown gasket). Now my problem now is;

*The car was kept by an idiot who put it under a tree where it has been subjected to bird mess for a very long time. It has been cleaned today but the bonnet is still stained with several white 'marks'. Can any tricks be done to get these out (7up or something?) or am i looking at a bonnet respray?

*The steering wheel tends to rattle a bit sometimes, is this wheel misalignment, weighting? The pattern that it happens in is a bit random.

*The sunroof doesnt open, it opens upwards for ventillation but doesnt open horizontally (if that makes sense). What could this be caused by??

*the door locking mechanism on the drivers side does nothing at all to lock/unlock the door/car, and 3 times out of 5 the door doesnt shut properly when it closes.

If anyone knows anything about any of these problems, the car is going to one of the top mercedes garages in london for classic mercedes cars (my eyes went wide when i saw the dozens of gullwings and even a 1950s S class!!! ) and this garage will lovingly work on the car. But i would like to know whats going on. Also the remote locking doesnt work, i replaced the battery and it doesnt work.

Are any of these issues known issues? Its a beautiful car.. and its only done around 60K miles, having been kept in a garage for most of its life..

Kind Regards,

OJ

Try to search the tech talk forum, all these issues are very common, my car went thru every problem u mentioned and more....lexcept for bird crap....likely the previous owner got hit with the expenses.....he kept all the maintanance records, i did the calculation, and it added up to $19k in last 4 years, that is the main reason why i felt safe getting this car...

thanks for the advice guys, the car is so dusty on the inside as well, and dirty, i took it to get cleaned up again today and covered it up with the original mercedes cover from back in 95 (the cars originally a Gulf Spec, from Dubai, still on UAE plates). Thankfully in london, parts are relatively easy to source, and thankfully i have the money to spare for a project like this, i just hope it can all be resolved in the next 2 weeks, its going into the garage on the 8th June for 10 days. They will be working on all these various problems, another little thing i noticed today was a small crack in the rear windscreen. But im sure car insurance people can deal with this.. but it just takes the pi** abit.

Anyway, ill keep you guys posted if you want with details and pics..

The Keyless entry system will have to be reprogrammed, the instructions are detailed in the owner's manual. You can make that car into a true Gem. I just sold my 1995 S500 coupe. I had put CL500 18 inch wheels and updated CL500 badges on it. It was the rare Spruce Green metallic with Palomino interior. I regret selling it, but I am buying a 2005 SL600 very soon. Here are a few pictures:

Ok, so the car is still at the garage, the bonnet has been resprayed, the engines getting fixed. Now i need some advice, i have the chance to buy 20' Carlson Alloys or 19' Brabus Alloys.. Which ones?

speaking of alloys, what sizes can i get, is 20x10 ok?

Also, its getting tinted by 70% all round with a reflective black tint. Should look good.. will post pics once its out and about.

Wheel fitment 20x10

20 x 10's will fit the rear for a staggered setup with 8 or 8.5's up front.
