Has any one put 20s on there benz coupe? If so hows the ride and handling? I'm putting 255/35 20 in the Rear and 225/35 20 in the front?

I had on my 97 s500 coupe 20s and removed two weeks later too hard and not good for your $$$$ rear shocks . Now I have 18 AMGs and I am happy.

Before I bought my S600 sedan, I test drove about 6 CLs with 20 inch rims, including the exact ones you are looking at.

Totally ruined the ride of these cars, I ended up with 2007 CL 19 inch rims, with 40 series tires still has a great ride.

Those 30 and 30 series ride like a truck.

You mean 225/40s right? I'm looking at going to 20s too, but not one good report so far. Might go down to 18s as the wheel I want isn't available in the 19" I'm running now. (Ascari Cuervo by the way)

Will it really ride any worse than those cars that have been lowered?, (which mine isn't).

20s should be fine without lowering (ride quality) but will look too big

You know, I have 19s on mine but always look at them and think how puny they look on this particular model.

why bother to change rims for such an old car???

i was considering to change rims for my SL, but i thought the new model is coming out next year and my SL will look dated anyway no matter what rims i have changed... so i have decided to leave it as is...

WTF?
People put 18's and 20's on thier 1934 ford coupes....Are they too old?

IMO R230's will take a long time to look "dated".
