I am a new Mercedes Owner, ( three years). I have a 2008 - CL 550 -. I am trying to determine what the chassis model is, and I have searched the internet on how to find it or if there were numbers in the VIN to help, but I cant seem to identify...
I believe it W216 - the vin is---- WDDEJ71X88A018538 -

that's one issue.

The reason I am looking for this is to find some online help as to how to remove the rear struts. I am specifically struggling with the top three bolts for each strut. It seems I can only see two of the three bolts and the third is covered and is behind the interior siding ... I have removed the rear grill, it pops right out, I have pulled the back to be able to see and feel the bolts on each side.

Do I need to remove the side of the headliner ( not sure what to call this piece) , its seems like it should pop out but I dont want to force it and break it...

If any one can help that would be great...
