I'm beyond happy with my s class coupe, but this start stop feature is really bothering me. When I turn the car on the start stop system defaults to on, and I need to manually turn it off every time. It's a pretty annoying system and I would love it to default to off when I turn the car on. I looked through all my settings and could not find anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
+2...one of the things I'd like to change on my S-coupe as well. My car doesn't seem to remember staying in sport mode upon restart as well...any way to make this happen?
Thnx
If you switch the car to sport mode instead of comfort mode it will automatically deactivate the ECO function (at least in the sedan; I think it's the same in the coupe).
In typical MB fashion, SPORT has to be turned on as well each time
I know that the facelifted SL has an actual comand screen function to turn off ECO but am not sure if that comes to other models and/or US cars...
Yes, the Start/Stop Function can be annoying to some, but it's a great function. In my SL, the function was not great since sometimes it shut off, and sometimes not. The S Coupe's Start/Stop Function works significantly better. I know you don't buy an S Coupe and get concerned about the gas mileage it gets; but Start/Stop does improve the the mileage.
I purchased a dongle from Mid City Engineering that eliminates the function at startup and installed it myself...no more ECO mode...look them up and call them..it was cheap...something like $200
Because of EPA regulations and the need to meet MPG standards they have to put these in cars and make them automatically on, and force us to defeat them each time we turn the car on. But as others have mentioned there are units to disable them permanently.
