You are absolutely right...damn it. Not sure how I missed that. I guess I was so used to 5x112 that I assumed the Panamera was the same. Apparently it's 5x130. I have some AMG wheels for trade if someone wants them (I'd prefer multispoke over these 5 star). Washington, DC Metro area!

If you are looking for multi spoke, I found brand new in box OEM 20 inch on line on EBay for about $1500 for 4 including shipping. They were the staggerblocks and were the optional wheels for the S550. (I bought my car used and it came with black 22 inchers and I wanted to go back to the original factory set up at some time). I thought the EBay deal was pretty good.
Thanks, I'm trying to avoid spending more on wheels. I trade my cars in every two years for something else (although I feel like I'll be keeping this S550 for some time, but I always say that). Every car I buy 9 out of 10 times I need to purchase new aftermarket wheels. Since this car won't fit the ones from the Panamera, I have this set of 22" wheels, and a set of 24" Forgiatos from an SUV I used to have none of which can fit. So I'm looking for someone who wants the AMG wheels and is willing to trade their regular MB wheels as long as they're multispoke. I just hate 5 star wheels!! Even if the AMG wheels are more expensive than what the trader has, I don't care. It's not about the name necessarily for me, it's about the look. Some like 5 star, I hate them.
So much for not buying new wheels. My wife is getting irritated as I have a house full of wheels now! I decided to purchase the same wheels from my Panamera only ones that are the right bolt pattern. I just spent $1200 on new Continental DSW all weather tires for the Panny wheels, I refuse to let them go to waste. So in the end my car should look like this (albeit a white car).

Awesome looking. Great wheels really make a car.
I presently have black 22s on my black car with the multi tuning fork design. Ok looking and I have in storage the 20 inch factory multi spoke that look closer to what you have. I have burnt the tires off of my 22s and now i have to decide which way to go. Probably the 20s would look better but the 22s are pretty cool. You have the best of both worlds!
Thanks Ron. They actually look much better on the Benz than they did on the Panny. They almost look stock on the Panny, they were subtle. Not sure where you live, but 22s are risky in the DC metro area. I usually look like I'm drunk dodging pot holes!

Lexnoir, i agree with you. I do think they look better on the Benz. I think they look great.
Fortunately, I live in Orange County California so potholes are a non issue. The city streets are well maintained, often 6 lanes wide with a posted speed of 60 mph and there are also a lot of freeways, including toll roads where you can blast along at whatever speed you want (as long as you have a radar detector/jammer). So damage is not an issue, appearance and ride are the only issues. In terms of ride I dont find the ride of the 22s to be bad and still run it in sport mode.
Lucky you in California! I love Cali. San Diego being at the top of my list. But I also enjoyed Anaheim. I also went to LA (of course), Beverly Hills, Sacramento, and San Fran. I could never get tired of the weather. I'm still trying to talk my wife into moving to Cali.

Lexnoir I hope you will indulge me, I am not wanting to hijack your thread but I would really like an opinion on my wheels.
I bought a 16 coupe that had a black wrap on it and 22 inch black wheels. I left that on because I intended to have some fun and then take it off and have a “new car”. I am really looking forward to doing this because the underlying paint is black magnetite and I really love that color. I also got the factory 20 inch multispoke wheels that look pretty cool to put on it.
However, now that I am about to do it, everybody tells me I am nuts and i should stay with the present look. So I am torn. My choices are:
1. Stay with the present look
2. Remove the wrap and go with the 20 inch multispoke
3. Remove the wrap and stay with the 22 inch black.
I would love some thoughts. Below is my car with the wrap and below that is a car that is exactly what mine would look like without the wrap and with the 20s.
My S550
This is what it would look like with the factory look.
Honestly I've never been a fan of black wheels especially black on black but I must say it looks damn good. But I would probably go with the more stock look.
It's a classy car and the matte black feels like you're trying to make it too fast and the furious. I have friends right now that would say I'm crazy and the black on black looks hard. But I like the classy sexy look over the young race sporty look.
I think this one is a personal call. You can't go wrong with either in your case.
But my opinion stock. And if I had those factory wheels I probably would have kept them (maybe). But I had 5 star wheels that were gun metal amg and they looked horrible especially in a white car.
I didn't realize I was talking to you... I thought someone else stepped in the thread. That's what happens when you're replying from your phone. Hence the reason I repeated the 5 star comment again lol.
Yes the young boys and girls love that black on black look especially matte black. And again, it looks good. But even your chrome trim/accents are blacked out. It sort of takes away from the car.
RonCL55 whichever way you decide to go they both look good. If you do though keep your current setup I would lower the car it would finish off the sinister look.

Well too late! I made the decision over the weekend. I am having the wrap removed. I will drive it with the black 22 inch wheels for a while but i suspect i will also switch those out for the 20 inch and go full “stock” look.
I saw them starting to peel off the wrap on the weekend and saw the “magnetite” black underneath. That is a great color. Really shimmers in the sun and I like the grey flakes instead of the gold with the other metallic black (of course those are very personal choices).

So here is stage 1. I removed the black wrap but left it on the chrome pieces. Also left on the black wheels. Next stage is I will swap out the wheels for the OEM factory 20s (I think—I want to drive it like this a little first). Not sure if I will take off the wrap on the chrome. I kind of like it.
Any votes on the wheels? Below on the second picture is what it would look like with the 20s. I suspect if I go with the 20s i should take the wrap off of the chrome.
